Sound installation - Science museum 2010
HumanEQ, an interactive sound installation that explore how an equalizer works. It triggers by movement of the human body and boosting up the volume in visuals and sound in the different frequency ranges depending of how you move your body. By direct interaction the HumanEQ will reflect the silhouette to the participants in movement and transformation to an equalizer. HumanEQ is for you play in fascination and curiosity and get a small but magical understanding about sound is and how it works.
The project is built in Processing with use of camera tracking. HumanEQ have 10 bands or frequency ranges from 32Hz to 16000Hz which is the approximately the range of what the human ear can hear. In other words, short waves sound high; long waves.
